Chico Nursery School Extended Day Program
Beginning in the fall of 2013, Chico Nursery School will have an additional childcare program, called Extended Day Program available to our families. This EDP program will immediately follow our daily morning program and run 12 – 3 Monday-Friday (as enrollment allows) Students can now stay from 9:00am until 3:00pm on their preschool day. We will also allow students to attend the 12-3 portion of the day, even if they have not been in class that morning. We invite our last graduating class of pre-Kindergarteners to participate in this program as well.
The Extended Day Program will begin with a lunch period, move to a short free play period, followed by a quiet rest period, then snack time and outside play. Children will be asked to lie down and listen to a story during rest time. They will not be required to sleep, but simply slow down and rest for a bit. There will be two adults on site at all times for this program.
Fees: Extended Day Program
12:00 – 3:00 on any one day = $18 / week
12:00 – 3:00 on any two days = $36 / week
12:00 – 3:00 on any three days = $50 / week
12:00 – 3:00 on any four days = $65 / week
12:00 – 3:00 on all 5 days = $80 / week
For Our Children… an Opportunity
To be themselves and develop at their own rate. To express themselves through art and play materials freely and constructively. To learn to be tolerant, creative, cooperative and imaginative. To learn to be independent … able to solve their own problems and do things for themselves. To enjoy a preschool experience that will simplify adjustment to elementary school and other social situations. To learn limits of behavior regarding safety, health, and respect for the rights of others. To build feelings of self confidence and security and an acceptance of reality. To increase their ability to handle their emotions constructively.
For Ourselves… an Opportunity
To share our child’s first experience away from home. To become more aware of our child’s world and understand his/her behavior based upon knowledge of growth and development. To achieve a more positive approach to our child-adult relationship through professional guidance and shared experience with other parents. To provide techniques of working with children and insight into human relationships through participation in the parent education program. To increase our understanding of the needs of the adults and need of the group.
